Wear comfortable clothes that are not tight.  Take a lightweight sweater, fleece or sweatshirt – it is usually cool in the cabin.  Wear compression hose during a long flight.

          Take a neck pillow.

          Take reading materials and things to keep you occupied during the trip.

          Buy a bottle of water before you board.  Drink plenty of water during the flight.

          Limit dehydrating beverages during the flight.

          Take some healthy snacks for the flight.

          Wipe the armrests with anti-bacterial wipes before you touch them.

          Wash your hands often during the flight and do not touch your face.

          Get up and walk, move your legs and do in-flight exercises.

          Wear earphones or ear plugs and an eye mask when you sleep.

          When it is time to board, prepare the things that you will need on the plane and have them ready.  Hold your boarding pass in your hand.

          Locate a blanket in the racks as you board and take it with you to your seat.  On international flights a blanket and pillow will be given to you or will be on your seat.

          Take off your shoes during the flight but put them on before you go to the restroom.
